The first Hungarian-language apologetics master's degree specialization. You can learn the defense of the Christian faith from Hungary's finest apologists.

Description of the training

Would you like to attend a theological training that not only deepens your faith, but also thoroughly prepares you to defend a healthy Christian faith? We invented the Apologetics Theology Master's Degree specialization for you! In our training, you will gain reliable and deep knowledge about non-Christian religions, and we will help you better understand the zeitgeist that surrounds us. If you would like to study the connections between faith and science, faith and culture, or help others navigate their way, we are waiting for you.

What will you learn?

Apologetics, i.e. defense of faith is about what we believe and why. About what we don't believe and why we don't. We learn about what is healthy in the faith life and what is not. We talk about how we can respond well to the honest questions or criticisms of believers, seekers, and people of other religions regarding our faith. This requires a lot of different knowledge. We must be able to find our way around, manage resources and set boundaries; for thinking and reasoning - even as a student. The range of ideas, doctrines, and trends is huge and constantly expanding, so we can't teach you "everything about everything." Our goal is for you to be able to face what you encounter in your own environment and in your service. We help you to acquire an attitude with which you represent your faith with respect for others, openness, humility and courage. After all, we don't have to win the argument, but the other person; and not for ourselves, but for Christ.

Admission requirements

  Entry to the master's program: A basic degree. Admission and the need for a minor are decided during the admission interview. If you are not building on a degree in theology, you will need to write a biblical and theological test. In the minor program, based on the comparison of the knowledge serving as the basis for determining the credit, 90 credits from the core content of the BA in Theology program should be recognized. If, based on the above comparison, the existence of less than 90 credits, but at least 30 credits, can be proven, the missing credits must be acquired within four semesters from admission as specified in the PTF study and examination regulations (i.e. you can acquire the missing credits during the program).

You can also complete 75% of the lessons remotely on a correspondence course. You can connect remotely via phone, tablet or computer. It's like sitting in class: you can comment and ask questions, the instructors and students are listening to you

Day training with START! scholarship

We make it easier for you to start your studies: from the first month onwards, we financially support PTF START! with a scholarship. You will receive HUF 30 per month in the first semester and HUF 20 per month in the second semester. You will receive this scholarship in addition to all other student grants

You don't have to worry about housing either: take advantage of the free dormitory accommodation that we provide you in the first semester. We won't leave you to yourself in the second semester either: you can use dormitory housing at half price.
