Description of the training

As a Christian, do you also think it is important that we deal with the next generations? Would you like to take part in helping children and families in difficult situations? Sign up for our training and do your part to ensure that families and children function healthily and develop - both physically and mentally. If you have completed the Christian child and youth protection BA training, you will also complete the subjects of the first academic year of the Child and youth protection consultant specialized training that follows. So after you get your diploma, you only have to study for 1 year and you can get another higher education. In other words, you can be the owner of two diplomas at the PTF in 4 years. With your second degree, you can choose among the following jobs:
  • Family and Child Welfare Service and Family and Child Welfare Center – Senior Manager/Manager
  • Children's Home - Senior Manager/Manager
  • Fostering network - senior manager/leader and child protection officer
  • Territorial child protection professional service - senior manager/leader, committee family carer, child protection guardian, mediator, placement administrator
  •  County child protection expert committee - leader
  • Family and child welfare center - case manager, counselor, social assistant
  • Nursery care, Alternative daytime care - coordinator
  • Substitute Parent Network - Senior Manager/Leader, Substitute Parent Advisor
  • Temporary home for children - educator, family caregiver
  • Temporary home for families - family caregiver

Cost / reimbursement:
With a state scholarship or self-funded: HUF 180.000 / semester

Training time in semesters:
6 semesters

Credits available: 180 (pastor specialization: 240)

Training type: Full-time and correspondence (hybrid training)

What will you learn?

During your studies:
  • you will get to know the domestic child protection system and its legal background, as well as the functioning of families, crises and treatment methods
  • we help you to a in the domestic family and child protection system, carry out child and youth protection activities with a Christian approach and spirituality
  • you get to know the history and characteristics of biblical times and the church
  • you will delve into the Old and New Testament Scriptures, you will know its main explanations
  • you can also put your acquired knowledge into practice: our professional internships for pastors will help you with this.
The training also provides access to further training in Child and Youth Protection Counselor - so it only takes one year to complete after the basic training. Specialized further training entitles you to work in family and child welfare services.  

Admission requirements

Persons with a high school diploma can apply for the training. Part of the admission process is a personal interview and the completion of an online Bible knowledge test.

You can also complete 75% of the lessons remotely on a correspondence course. You can connect remotely via phone, tablet or computer. It's like sitting in class: you can comment and ask questions, the instructors and students are listening to you

Day training with START! scholarship

We make it easier for you to start your studies: from the first month onwards, we financially support PTF START! with a scholarship. You will receive HUF 30 per month in the first semester and HUF 20 per month in the second semester. You will receive this scholarship in addition to all other student grants

You don't have to worry about housing either: take advantage of the free dormitory accommodation that we provide you in the first semester. We won't leave you to yourself in the second semester either: you can use dormitory housing at half price.
