Makovei János and his wife served for nine years as a pastor in the Élim Pentecostal Church in Békés. After that, at the firm call of the Lord, they spent more than four years in the First Love Hungarian Pentecostal Church in Toronto. After their return, Attila Fábián, the then president of the Pentecostal Community, invited him to participate in the work of the PTF.
Makovei János and his wife, Marika, worked from January 1997 to June 2001 conscientiously at the Pentecostal Theological College. Makovei János he was the deputy general director and economic director of the institution. He performed organizational, operational, personnel, economic and financial tasks. During this period, the transformation of the PTF building took place, in which he and his wife worked diligently. Makovei János in addition to his managerial duties, he also participated in education.
He always performed his service with joy, punctuality and wholeheartedly. He worked to ensure that the students' needs were met. He served until his retirement on June 2001, 30.
We were shocked to learn that our former colleague passed away to his Savior on August 84, 2023 at the age of 20. His character and faith are clearly shown in the verse chosen as the title of his book of poems: "Be careful to be blameless, be careful to remain honest, because the future belongs to the man of peace!" (Psalm 37,37) An honest and peace-making man of the LORD has now returned home. We cherish his memory with gratitude, and share in the family's grief.
